MarkyB is a player that has been getting a little more recognition in the Modern Warfare 3 scene after his performance at i46. I took a few moments of his time to find out how he was doing since then.

First of all, thank you for doing this interview, for people not familiar with the Modern Warfare 3 scene, can you introduce yourself?

MarkyB: Hello guys, I'm Mark Bryceland otherwise known as MarkyB. I currently reside in a small, peaceful town on the outskirts of Glasgow. I've been playing Call of Duty competitively for a few years now, took a break during Black Ops and came back in full force on Modern Warfare 3. I've put quite a fair few hours into the game to say the least.

In MW3 there are generally two types of player, the SMG users and the AR users, what type are you?

MarkyB: I've used an AR at every event that I've attended on this game. Saying that though, I've definitely got a very strong SMG shot on myself. If it came down to it, I could definitely make the switch over to the SMG role at events. I'd like to say that I'm quite diverse and can do any role that is needed by the team I'm a part of.

Now you havent had the best of LAN events, seeing as there is unforseen circumstances at each one you have attended. Do you feel this has hindered you in the bigger picture of things?

MarkyB: Yes, I'd definitely say so. I've probably had less opportunities to prove myself, compared to a lot of players due to these circumstances. But I'm always motivated to go into every event and give it 100% time and time again. In regards to EGL events my placements have always been absolutely atrocious. I'd love to go into an EGL event with a prepared team. A team that I'm confident with, but that has sadly never been the case. I got an opportunity to showcase what I can do at i46, once again with a team that had very little practise. 2 hours to be precise. I'd say I played well, I know I can only improve now though. Hopefully I can show Europe my talents once again at EGL8!

The Tigerware team at i46 placed very well. Did you feel that people underrated you before that event?

MarkyB: I definitely think I was underated before that event. I still think I'm very underated now. I know what level I can play at when I'm playing at events, I want to be consistently playing at that level and placing highly. Luckily I was given the opportunity to play with players that I have a lot of respect for such as XLNC, Mak and Joshh. I learned a lot from that weekend. Obviously being Scottish it was an honour playing with the best two in Scotland, Mak and XLNC. As well as teaming with Joshh, he really knows how to motivate a team.

So how has team searching gone for you after the event?

MarkyB: It's been quite difficult finding a team that I have fun playing with. As well as a team that I know can go into an event and absolutely smash it. I think I've found that team. It should be announced very shortly but I can't officially give anymore news on the matter at the present time. What I can confirm is, I'll be at EGL8.

EGL8 is set to be the biggest event the European community has had. With it being the final UK event for MW3, do you feel we can improve on the numbers we had for EGL5?

MarkyB: I really hope so. I'd love to see teams from across the world come and compete in what is set to be the biggest CoD LAN ever. There's already a lot of interest from the American teams. I just hope the European teams turn up in force, if you're wanting to start making yourself a name for Black Ops 2, you're gonna want to attend your first event now.

What would you say to those people looking to get involved further with the community?

MarkyB: Just get stuck in. Post on Decerto, compete online in scrims and tournaments, attend events and most importantly make a name for yourself. Black Ops 2 is going to be massive, you're gonna want to be near the top on Black Ops 2 is there's going to be a lot of opportunities for everyone involved in the scene to have a memorable year. LAN events are so fun, travelling across the country and meeting up with some of the funniest people you've ever met. You're really missing out if you're constantly dwelling on attending or not, just go for it.

Thanks for your time Marky, the last words are yours.

MarkyB: Shoutout to Team Dignitas for the interview and for your time personally. Shoutout to the lads, you know who you are. Shoutout to the Skype crews, most importantly PIG and WaW SickCANTS. Shoutout to Momo, KyLee, ReL and Dan. Shoutout to Big Calvin. Shout out to the fam.
